Cherry Hagger BSc (Hons), BA (Hons),RD
Owner and Lead Dietitian
I set up Cherry Nutrition to give patients the time and care they deserve to improve their health.
My passion is helping people to improve their gut health and I am known as the 'Happy Gut Dietitian' on social media.
When people have conditions such as IBS, acid reflux, chronic constipation or diarrhoea, coeliac disease, food intolerances, issues post gallbladder removal and other gastroenterology conditions, things often feel hopeless.
My ability to make a positive difference to patient's lives through, listening to patients stories and supporting them to make dietary and lifestyle change, has given me a sense of satisfaction.
Cherry Nutrition normally works out of a clinic space located at a modern GP practice (with ample free parking) just outside of Chelmsford Essex (5 mins from the A12).
Secure video appointments are available but clinics will not be resuming until the vaccination programme is complete
Since graduating from the University of Hertfordshire with a BSc Dietetics I have worked exclusively for the NHS in a variety of locations across Essex and Cambridge. After initially gaining an understanding of how digestive symptoms related to diet, I went on to become a specialist gastroenterology dietitian.
I see patients with other conditions including liver issues, high cholesterol, post-stroke/heart attack dietary change and diet optimisation in those with allergy. I also support patients and their families with weight loss associated with conditions of advancing age such as dementia, Parkinson's Disease, post hip replacement etc;
I am HCPC registered, a full member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) including the Food Allergy Specialist group, Gastroenterology Specialist group, a member of British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI) and British Society for Gastroenterology (BSG) amongst others and regularly attend conferences and professional training across the UK to keep my knowledge up to date. I am fully trained by Kings College London in the FODMAP diet intervention.
Currently, I am studying part-time for an MSc Allergy at the University of Southampton and offer dietetic allergy services covering a range of allergic conditions.
(Please note if I suspect a new non-diagnosed allergy at 1st assessment I will recommend an urgent assessment by a clinical allergist)
In my free time, I like to spend time with my husband and 3 children; cooking, walking in the beautiful Essex countryside and travelling both in the UK and further afield!
